Shimla, Mar 09 – The education board planned to start teaching Sanskrit from class III in schools across the state and for same they sent printed books to all the schools. However, the Directorate of Elementary Education has refused to start the subject.
The Directorate of Elementary Education has expressed ignorance on starting the study of Sanskrit from the third grade from the academic session 2023-24. According to the information, Director of Elementary Education, Himachal Pradesh, Ghanshyam Chand is on a tour of district Kangra these days. During this, he has visited several schools in the district and held meetings with BEEO and CHT.
On Tuesday, in response to a question in Kangra’s office of the Deputy Director of Elementary Education that Sanskrit studies would be started from the third grade, he said that he has no information in this context that Sanskrit studies are being started in schools from the third grade.
