HP Khadi and Village Industries Board records 39 percent growth in sales

Sets Rs. 112 crore target for 2026-27
Himachal Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Board achieved sales of various products amounting to Rs. 54.84 crore under marketing and commercial activities during the year 2025-26. This is a 39 percent increase as compared to the sales of Rs. 39.19 crore in the financial year 2024-25, generating an income of approximately Rs. 4.50 crore for the Board.
This was revealed during the 248th meeting of the Board of Directors of the Board held here today under the chairmanship of Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan.
The Industries Minister commended the achievements of the Board for impressive sales of various products. While reviewing various activities of the Board, he directed the officers to rationalize the staff in alignment with actual functional requirements to ensure the optimal and effective utilization of human resources and to enhance administrative and operational efficiency.
To ensure the proper utilization of its assets, such as buildings and premises, the Board of Directors approved the renting out of vacant buildings and sales centers at the Kangra complex, as well as wool carding centers at Udaipur, Holi, and Pooh. This move aims to generate additional revenue for the Board besides promoting self-reliance.
It was informed that for the year 2026-27, the Board has set a sales target of Rs. 112.00 crore for products under marketing and commercial activities, of which, a sales target of Rs. 19.71 crore has already been achieved by July 2026.
Special Secretary, Finance Vijay Wardhan, Special Secretary, Industries Sunil Sharma, Chief Executive Officer of the Board Jitender Kanwar and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
