HP High Court Enforces Strict Payment Guidelines on HPTDC Banquet Services and Outstanding Dues
1 min readShimla, 14th November 2024: Following the Hon’ble HP High Court’s recent order dated 12.11.2024 in CWP No. 9681 of 2023 & CMP No. 20472 of 2024 (Jai Krishan Mehta vs. HPTDC), the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) has implemented stringent payment protocols for booking banquet services. Private functions, such as weddings and parties, will now require an 80% advance of the tentative amount owed to HPTDC prior to the service being rendered.
The Court’s directive also mandates that outstanding dues owed by government departments to HPTDC must be settled by 30th November 2024, or the concerned Heads of Department will face contempt of court. Unit in-charges are directed to ensure compliance, failing which they will be personally liable to indemnify any incurred losses.
HPTDC has instructed all units to expedite the collection of sundry debtors, with a detailed report due by 17th November 2024. Additional coordination support will be provided by designated accountants to address any challenges faced in the reporting process.
