Himachal Revises BPL Eligibility Criteria; KCC Holders Above ₹50,000 Excluded
Shimla Jan 31
The Himachal Pradesh government has introduced 13 new parameters for selecting Below Poverty Line (BPL) families in the upcoming March-April survey. Families meeting even one of these criteria will be excluded from the BPL list. Those holding a Kisan Credit Card (KCC) with a loan limit of ₹50,000 or more, government employees, tax-paying households, and owners of motor vehicles or large landholdings will not be eligible. However, homeless families, bonded laborers, and marginalized tribal groups will be automatically included in the BPL category.
