Himachal Pradesh Reeling Under Inconsistent Governance: Jairam
1 min readShimla: Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur criticized the Himachal Pradesh government, labeling it as a “flip-flop government” during a press conference. He accused the administration of altering notifications with backdated changes, particularly regarding the termination of government jobs. Thakur expressed his disappointment over the government’s failure to fulfill its election promises, citing that no new jobs have been provided in the last two years despite promises of creating one lakh jobs annually. He also called the government’s performance “zero” and condemned its handling of key issues, including recent job cuts.
Thakur emphasized that under the BJP’s previous government led by Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, there was no such move to abolish permanent positions, but rather efforts to regularize and increase jobs. He warned that youth in Himachal have lost hope, as the current administration seems unlikely to offer job opportunities.
He further criticized the government for its numerous unfulfilled promises, including the controversial toilet tax and HRTC luggage tax, both of which remain unresolved despite multiple notifications.
