Shimla, December 31, 2024: Vikramaditya Singh, the Minister of Public Works and Urban Development, reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to the holistic development of Himachal Pradesh. Key initiatives under PMGSY-3 and PMGSY-4 schemes aim to upgrade over 2000 km of roads, with detailed plans to construct new roads, repair existing ones, and enhance rural connectivity.

For 2025-26, 625 km of new road tarring will begin, funded by NABARD and special development programs. Moreover, 500 new roads and 50 bridges will be constructed, alongside significant upgrades under central schemes. Annual maintenance will cover 1800 km, with efforts to make 3500 km of roads pothole-free.

Urban development initiatives include introducing eight online services under a unified portal for citizens’ convenience, expanding waste management programs, and employing drone-based GIS for property mapping. Plans also include parks and parking facilities in remote urban areas, along with livelihood schemes akin to MGNREGA for urban regions.

Under AMRUT, ₹84.28 crore will be allocated to water supply, sewerage, and green space projects. The government will focus on water resource sustainability and efficient distribution systems.

Singh emphasized innovative approaches for infrastructure development and assured citizens of modern amenities for a progressive Himachal Pradesh.
