Himachal Ends Electricity Subsidy for Gazetted Officers, E-KYC Mandatory

The Himachal Pradesh government has revoked electricity subsidies for gazetted officers, effective January 1. Bills from February onwards will be issued without subsidies. Consumers must complete e-KYC by February 15 to avail of 125 units of free electricity per meter. Failure to do so will result in subsidy loss. Over 23.55 lakh meters exist in the state, and more than 2,000 consumers have voluntarily given up subsidies.
