Shimla, February 23 – Ahead of the Himachal Pradesh Budget Session starting March 10, the State Assembly Secretariat has already received around 130 questions from legislators. The questions, submitted both online and offline, mainly focus on road infrastructure, drinking water, mining, transport, healthcare, and vacancies in educational institutions.
Both BJP and Congress MLAs have actively submitted questions concerning their respective constituencies. The number is expected to rise as the session approaches.
Key Highlights of the Budget Session
- March 10: Session begins at 2 PM with Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla’s address.
- March 11: Obituary references, followed by Question Hour.
- March 17: Annual Budget 2025-26 to be presented.
- March 26: Budget to be passed.
- Total Meetings: 16 sittings planned, with daily Question Hour and a 30-minute Zero Hour for urgent matters.
Legislators Should Highlight Local Issues: Speaker
Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania urged members to use questions to address local constituency issues and push for discussions on development activities. He emphasized that the budget session is a crucial opportunity to find solutions for public grievances.
