High-Impact study on mTOR signaling pathway in human health and disease published

Shoolini University researchers, Dr. Deepak Kumar, Professor, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and his student Mr. Vivek Panwar published an article in prestigious journal Nature ”Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy” with an impact factor of 40.
The study’s objective was to unlock the profound secrets of the mTOR (mammalian target of rapamycin) signaling pathway and its multiple roles in human health and disease, with a particular focus on its implications in cancer. The insights presented in this paper shed light on the pivotal role of mTOR in cancer biology, addressing current challenges and exploring its potential for therapeutic intervention.
This article showed the importance of mTOR in aging, age-related neurological disorders, diabetes, and human malignancies. The discovery of mTORC1 signaling not only extend life expectancy but also boost immunity, thereby reducing the risk of age-related neurological disorders, cancer, and metabolic diseases in mammals and humans.
The other collaborating authors from India were Aishwarya Singh, Manini Bhatt, Dr. Rajiv Tonk, Dr. Agha Saquib Raza, Dr. Shinjinee Sengupta, Dr. Manoj Garg from Amity University, DPSRU Delhi, IIT Ropar and Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital, New Delhi.
This landmark study has the potential to transform the landscape of cancer treatment and pave the way for more effective and less toxic therapies. The scientific community eagerly awaits the follow-up research and clinical trials that will undoubtedly be sparked by this remarkable breakthrough.
