1 min readShimla, 13 December 2024: Health Minister Dr. (Col) Dhani Ram Shandil and Education Minister Rohit Thakur today strongly criticized the BJP for its baseless allegations and propaganda against the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh. Addressing the media, the ministers highlighted the massive turnout of nearly 50,000 people at Bilaspur during the two-year celebration of the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led government, calling it a testament to public faith in the administration.
They accused BJP leaders of spreading misinformation and engaging in malicious propaganda following the event. The ministers dismissed Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur’s claim of Rs. 25 crore being spent on the Bilaspur rally, questioning the BJP’s own expenses on rallies and central leaders’ hospitality during their tenure.
The duo also criticized the BJP for its internal conflicts and efforts to seek attention through baseless statements. They called the BJP’s memorandum to the Governor alleging corruption and financial mismanagement irrelevant, noting that such issues were prominent during the BJP regime.
Highlighting the achievements of the Sukhu government, they noted revenue generation of Rs. 2,600 crore within a year, the fulfillment of five out of ten guarantees, and decisive actions such as disbanding the corrupt Service Selection Board at Hamirpur. They reiterated the Chief Minister’s vision of making Himachal self-reliant by 2027 and the most prosperous state by 2031.
The ministers condemned the BJP’s attempts to derail development and expressed confidence that the people of Himachal Pradesh would hold them accountable for their actions in the upcoming elections.
