Hamirpur, Sep 26 – Hundreds of villagers of the Tang and Baloh areas of the Nadaun revenue sub division Monday took out a procession for a blanket ban on introducing a stone crusher there.

They also submitted a memorandum to the district administration alleging that if permission for crusher was given, their crops would be badly damaged and they would suffer huge financial losses.
Notably, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhoo, the Congress MLA from Nadaun two days ago had also lodged his strong protest against permission for the stone crusher at Tang village.
The villagers warned the administration that that if their demand was not accepted, they would resort to fast unto death.
A rally was held under the chairmanship of Ajmel Singh in protest against the stone crusher in which apart from women, youth also participated. They were carrying banners and placards in their hands. Villagers can go to any extent if the stone crusher proposal is not rejected at Tung and Bloh under Hathol Panchayat. He said many crushers have already been installed on this ravine.

They demonstrated for a long time at Gandhi Chowk. During this, they alleged that the manner in which the Nadaun administration is playing a role to install the proposed stone crusher is also objectionable. Apart from Ajmail Singh, dozens of villagers including Santosh, Vijay, Vinod Dhiman, Rajendra, Ravi, Sanjay, Anju Devi, Kamala Devi have said earlier also a crusher was located in the nearby area.

The villagers raised slogans of ‘Kisan Ekta’ and bluntly said the work of installing this stone crusher should be stopped in time.

Importantly, a demand for issuance of no-objection certificate for the installation of stone crushers was made by a person of Dayad village under Sarkaghat tehsil of Mandi near Gram Panchayat Vadaran, they alleged.

When the matter of installing a crusher in the village reached the panchayat, it refused to give the no-objection certificate after the protest by the villagers.
