Hamirpur MC Invites Suggestions on Draft Solid Waste Management Rules Till Oct 9
Hamirpur, September 22, 2026: The Municipal Corporation Hamirpur has invited suggestions and objections from the public on the draft Solid Waste Management (SWM) Rules, 2026, prepared by the Directorate of Urban Development.
Municipal Commissioner Rakesh Sharma said the draft by-laws, aimed at streamlining various aspects of solid waste management, have been forwarded to the Municipal Corporation Hamirpur. A copy of the draft has been made available free of cost for public inspection at the Municipal Corporation office.
He said local urban bodies have been advised to make necessary modifications to the draft in accordance with their local requirements, geographical conditions, administrative arrangements and existing municipal regulations.
The applicable provisions include monthly waste user charges and prescribed penalties for violations of the proposed by-laws in Municipal Corporation Hamirpur. Other provisions relating to solid waste management under the SWM Rules, 2026 have also been incorporated.
