Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla flagged off the Drug-Free India Campaign, organized by Prajapita Brahma Kumari Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya, from Raj Bhavan today. He said that this initiative would involve a 40-day campaign across various areas of Shimla district, aiming to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of drug use.

On the occasion, the Governor praised the efforts of the Brahma Kumari Seva Kendra, Panthaghati and highlighting their dedication to de-addiction work in the area. He said that he himself was actively involved in the de-addiction campaign in the State, and our entire governance system was supporting this initiative. He emphasized that drug addiction is harmful not only to individuals but also to families and society. Expressing concern over the increasing prevalence of synthetic drugs, he recommended that the de-addiction videos produced by the Brahma Kumaris should be shown in schools and colleges, as they would play a pivotal role in raising awareness about the harmful impact of drugs.

During the event, the Governor also inspected a specially designed vehicle equipped with information about de-addiction.
