Shahpur, August 9: Shahpur MLA and Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania interacted with beneficiaries identified under the Phase-1 to Phase-8 survey conducted by the Rural Development Department in various panchayats of Rait block at Chadhi on Saturday.

The interaction covered beneficiaries identified from Chadhi, Gharoh, Lanjni, Meti, Kajlot, Kalyada, Sudhed, Naganpatt, Bhitalu, Ansui, Rawa and Kareri panchayats.

Pathania said the primary objective of the interaction was to directly engage with the beneficiaries identified through the survey and ensure that no eligible person was left out or incorrectly excluded during the selection process.

He said suggestions, positive feedback and important cases concerning eligible beneficiaries received during the interaction would be brought to the notice of the state government. Every individual was being given an opportunity to present their case.

He said Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has made it clear that the benefits of government welfare schemes must reach poor and needy people at the last mile and that no eligible person should be deprived of government assistance.

Pathania said 3,503 people had been identified through the survey conducted in Rait block. He directed Panchayat Secretaries to assist eligible and needy people with a service-oriented approach and ensure that no deserving person is left out of government welfare schemes.

The Deputy Chief Whip said similar interaction programmes were being organised across the Shahpur Assembly constituency. Through these programmes, beneficiaries are being engaged directly so that their problems, suggestions and requirements can be brought before the government.

Shahpur SDM Ganesh Thakur provided detailed information about the interaction programme and assured the Deputy Chief Whip that his directions would be implemented.

Chadhi Panchayat Pradhan Sunit Kumar welcomed the chief guest on his arrival at the programme, while District Zila Parishad Member Surender also shared his views on the occasion.
