Goldsmith Training to Get Boost Under PM Vishwakarma Scheme in Shimla

Shimla district administration will strengthen skill training for traditional goldsmiths under the Prime Minister Vishwakarma Scheme to revive heritage crafts and promote self-employment. Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap said special focus will be given to training temple jewellery artisans, with financial support, subsidised loans up to ₹3 lakh, stipends during training, and modern tool assistance. The initiative aims to preserve traditional skills, generate local employment, and economically empower artisans through structured training and easy credit access.
