GALACTECH – National Level IoT Workshop Held At JUIT

Solan, Sept 20 – IEEE JUIT SB is organising a week-long National level workshop on IoT entitled “GALACTECH” in collaboration with IEEE R10 Region, SAC IEEE Delhi Section, JUIT SB and JCBUST YMCA SB during September 19 – 25, 2022.

The event started with an inauguration ceremony on 19th September at 5 p.m. where the IEEE SIGHT JUIT SB welcomed all the participants and the guests. The workshop was declared open by the warm words of Dr. Rashmi Agarwal, Secretary, IEEE WIE AG, Delhi Section.  Followed by Prof. Rachna Garg, Chair, IEEE Delhi Section who shared her words of wisdom to motivate students for the workshop. Dr. Abdul Quaiyum Ansari, professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Jamia University, appreciated IEEE for organising such a great workshop and shared his views about IoT. The Vice Chancellor Dr. Rajendra Kumar Sharma graced the meet with his words of wisdom and explained the importance of project works in students’ college journey.

Ajay Kumar Godara, Founder and Director of Enovation lab, Chandigarh was the chief guest speaker and will be the tutor for this one-week IoT workshop. He began with talking about the importance of IoT in our day-to-day life and how the scope in IoT is increasing with time.

The workshop will consist of 4 themes – Domotics (Home Automation), DigiCity (Smart Cities), IoT in Healthcare, IoT for workspaces. The participants will build prototypes using the IoT kits they have received along with registration, and the best innovation under all themes will be awarded at the closing ceremony.

The inauguration came to an end with Dr. Shruti Jain, Prof, ECE, Associate Dean (innovation) and IEEE JUIT SB Branch Counsellor, who gave a Vote of thanks to all the guests and wished all the best to the participants for the next 7 days of learning and innovation.
