Fresh Snowfall Disrupts Himachal Pradesh; Over 130 Roads Blocked

Kufri, Narkanda, Dalhousie, and other regions received significant snowfall, leading to the blockage of 136 roads, including three national highways. Upper Shimla remains cut off, and over 1,500 vehicles are stranded near Solang Nala due to snow accumulation, with traffic to Atal Tunnel halted.
Power outages affected 65 transformers, and 18 water schemes were disrupted. Heavy snow and rain lashed Shimla, Kullu, Kangra, and Lahaul-Spiti, plunging temperatures below freezing in several areas.
The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy snowfall, rain, and cold wave for December 28, with warnings of strong winds and lightning in lower and mid-regions.
