Former State General Secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh, Dr. Mamaraj Pundeer, expressed deep concern over the unexpectedly low marks scored by students in the Class 12 English board exam. He pointed out that even the board toppers scored only 90 marks in English.
Dr. Pundeer has urged the Chief Minister, Education Minister, and Board Secretary to initiate a re-evaluation of the English exam papers to ensure justice for the students. He questioned how students scoring full marks in other subjects could score below 80 in English.
He praised the board for its overall performance but stressed that such low marks in English are demoralizing and must be investigated. Dr. Pundeer also made some student mark sheets public and raised doubts about whether old OMR sheets were mistakenly used for evaluation, especially since the original English paper was cancelled and re-conducted.
He further appealed to the government to reduce the rechecking and re-evaluation fee, currently ₹1000, calling it too high and a barrier for students seeking rightful review of their results.
