Five HP cricketers shortlisted for women IPL

Hamirpur, Feb 9 – Five women cricketers from Himachal will be seen playing in the first women’s IPL league. For this first-ever tournament, there will be an auction of players in Mumbai on February 13.

For this, 22 players from Himachal got registered, out of which 5 have been shortlisted.
The shortlisted players include Harleen Deol, Sushma Verma, Renuka Thakur, Vasuvi Festa, and Chitra Jamwal.
A total of 1,525 players had registered for IPL, out of which 409 players have been shortlisted. Of these, 246 are Indian and 163 are foreign players.
Notably, fast bowler Renuka Thakur, a resident of Shimla, registered on behalf of the Railways. Harleen Deol from HPCA has been registered with a base price of Rs 40 lakh. Harleen is currently a part of the Indian team. Sushma Verma registered for a base price of Rs 30 lakh. He is also part of the team.
Apart from this, Rohru’s Vasuvi Festa, Jammu’s Chitra Singh Jamwal and Kinnaur’s Sushmita Kumari have got registered with a base price of 10 lakh among the uncapped players. This entire domestic cricket is played by the team of Himachal Pradesh. Surendra Thakur, president of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association, gave this information adding that five players have been shortlisted for the auction to be held on February 13, which was a matter of happiness for the state. BCCI is doing good work for women players. With this, women players will show trends in cricket in the country and the state. For the last few years, more trends are being seen among women toward cricket in the state, which is a good sign for the future.
