ESIC Extends Dependent Pension to Family of Deceased Outsourced Worker

The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) branch office in Hamirpur has started a dependent pension for the family of deceased outsourced employee Rakesh Kumar, who died following a work-related road accident in February 2026 while serving at NIT Hamirpur. ESIC officials urged employers to ensure timely registration of eligible workers under the ESI scheme, highlighting that the Social Security Code, 2020 has expanded coverage and strengthened social security benefits for employees and their families.
