“Enviro-Ideation Hackathon 2023" To Change Life

On the occasion of World Environment Day 2023, we are happy to announce the commencement of the “Enviro-Ideation Hackathon 2023 on the theme “Waste to Wonder”, taking place from May 15, 2023, to June 5, 2023. This exciting event aims to engage undergraduate and above students from Himachal Pradesh in finding innovative solutions to address critical environmental challenges such as solid waste, plastic waste, e-waste, and C&D waste.

The Enviro-Ideation Hackathon 2023 offers a unique platform for young minds to brainstorm, collaborate, and unleash their creativity to solve some of the most pressing environmental issues of our time. We believe that the power of ideation and technological advancements can pave the way towards a more sustainable future.

Participants will have the opportunity to work in teams and develop ground-breaking solutions that will contribute to the preservation and conservation of our environment. By harnessing their collective talent and knowledge, we aim to unlock innovative ideas that have the potential to create a lasting positive impact.

The hackathon will run for a duration of three weeks, starting from registration & submission from 15^th May 2023 (9,00AM) to grand finale on 5^th June 2023. Our field offices (Regional Offices and Laboratories) shall guide the participants throughout their ideation process. The participation team shall have a maximum of 3 members.

We are also pleased to announce a rewarding prize pool for the Enviro-Ideation Hackathon 2023. The first-place team will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 75,000/-, the second-place team will receive Rs. 50,000/-, and the third-place team will be granted Rs. 25,000/-. Further teams placed at 4^th 5^th and 6^th shall receive cash prize @Rs. 10,000/- each and teams placed at 7^th, 8^th, 9^th and 10^th shall also receive cash prize @Rs. 5,000/- each. In addition to the monetary rewards, the winning teams will also be presented with trophies and certificates in recognition of their outstanding contributions.

The Enviro-Ideation Hackathon 2023 is open exclusively to undergraduate and above students from Himachal Pradesh. We strongly encourage students from various disciplines, including engineering, environmental sciences, computer science, and business, to participate and contribute their diverse perspectives.

Last date of registration and submission of Ideas/Solutions on the theme “Waste to Wonder” – 25^th May, 2023 (5.00PM).
Screening of entries & announcement of shortlisted ideas – 27^th May, 2023 by 05 PM.

We have designed and operationalized a web-portal namely https://hppcbhackathon.in/ to facilitate the registration and idea submission for the students. All types of necessary information have been displayed on the webportal. You all are requested to accord wide publicity to the website. Our field offices (Regional Offices and Laboratories) shall guide the participants throughout their ideation process.

As you aware that we are regulatory agency and work for the betterment of environment, several industries have come forward to provide us in-kind assistance like some industry shall provide the cash awards, some trophies and certificates, fooding and logistics, exhibitions, souvenirs etc. I place my special thanks to Himachal Pradesh industry fraternity such as Ruchira papers, Ambuja cement, Johnson and Johnson, Premier Alcobev, Prime Steel Pvt., Limited and many more industry partners are offering in kind assistance for this novel cause.
