Election monitoring team caught Rs 2 crore cash from the car in Dumtal

Dharamshala, Oct 29 (UNI) A police team has recovered Rs 2 crore in cash from a vehicle at a barricade put up in view of the elections at Damtal, a border area of Kangra district.
Investigation is in progress in this case. District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Dr. Nipun Jindal informed that the administration is working diligently to conduct the elections peacefully.
The movement of vehicles is being monitored by putting up blockades from place to place. Static surveillance teams and police teams are keeping a close watch on suspicious activities along with checking vehicles at various places.
Damtal police in a joint operation of the CRPF at a barrier at Damtal the entry point to Kàngra district recovered nearly Rs. 2 crores from a Chandigarh registration number vehicle CH01 BY 4077 today.
Police has started investigation in the matter. It is reported that two persons were traveling by the said vehicle. The police was investigating about the source of the money and it’s destination and purpose for bringing the money in this hill state where election was in progress.
