Shimla/Mandi, April 22, 2026: The Territorial Army’s 133 Infantry Battalion (TA) Eco Dogra marked International Earth Day with a large-scale plantation and awareness drive across Kufri, Tattapani, and Aut (Mandi), reinforcing its role as the state’s “Eco Warriors.”
The initiative was conducted in collaboration with local schools, teachers, students, community members, and hotel volunteers. Activities included a widespread tree plantation drive, awareness lectures, and a cleanliness campaign aimed at promoting environmental protection and sustainable living.
Participants planted numerous saplings in designated areas, contributing to afforestation efforts, while awareness sessions highlighted the importance of forest conservation, responsible resource use, and climate action. The cleanliness drive focused on removing plastic waste and litter from surrounding areas.
The event reflected the Territorial Army’s commitment to nation-building beyond its military responsibilities, while also strengthening civil-military cooperation.
The programme concluded with a collective pledge by participants to continue environmental efforts, underlining that protecting nature is a shared responsibility and an integral part of national service.
