Deputy Commissioner Highlights Natural Farming and Financial Aid
Shimla, January 27, 2025: A district-level technical committee meeting, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap, was held to discuss financial assistance under various schemes for agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, and animal husbandry for the fiscal year 2025-26. The committee approved financial parameters to benefit farmers and boost rural development.
Kashyap emphasized the importance of financial support in increasing farmers’ income and announced an upcoming meeting with the Central Potato Research Institute, Shimla, to enhance potato production and related products. Efforts are also being made to promote natural farming and ensure better market access for organic produce.
Key highlights include financial aid for crops like potato, cabbage, maize, and garlic under agriculture, and assistance for fruits like apples, kiwis, and cherries under horticulture. Fisheries and animal husbandry departments also outlined financial support for aquaculture and livestock development.
Officials from various departments and banks, including Sanjay Sharma, District Manager of Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank, attended the meeting.
