DC Shimla Reviews Training Program for Trainees

Shimla, Feb 11: Deputy Commissioner Shimla, Anupam Kashyap, interacted with trainees undergoing a six-month skill development program in computer applications and related activities at the DC office. This was his second meeting with the trainees to gather feedback and enhance the program’s effectiveness.
He emphasized that the initiative aims to familiarize youth with government office functions and enhance their work capabilities. The six-month duration ensures trainees gain confidence and are better prepared for future opportunities.
### **Efforts to Make the Program More Practical and Beneficial**
To improve the program’s effectiveness, the DC directed Additional Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Verma to draft an SOP to make the training more practical. He also instructed District Welfare Officer Keval Ram Chauhan to ensure that each trainee gains experience in all branches of the DC office.
Currently, 178 youth are enrolled in the program under the District Welfare Office, out of which 17 are training at the DC office. The program is open to candidates from economically weaker sections, including SC, ST, OBC, differently-abled individuals, single women, widows, and minorities. Each trainee receives a monthly stipend of ₹1,500.
The meeting was attended by ADC Abhishek Verma, Assistant Commissioner Gopal Chand Sharma, District Welfare Officer Keval Ram Chauhan, and other officials.
