DC Mukesh Repaswal Reviews Telecom Strengthening Measures in Chamba

To enhance telecom connectivity in Chamba district, Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal held a meeting with senior officials of the Department of Telecommunications (HP LSA) and representatives of various service providers at the NIC video-conferencing hall.
Additional Director General Telecom (HP LSA) Anil Kumar Gupta attended the meeting as a special invitee.
The discussion focused on network disruptions caused during the recent monsoon disasters, current connectivity challenges, and the technical as well as administrative steps needed to ensure uninterrupted telecom services in the future.
DC Repaswal assured full cooperation from the district administration to all service providers for strengthening telecom infrastructure. He directed SDMs to identify villages still lacking telecom coverage so that necessary action can be initiated.
ADG Anil Kumar Gupta emphasized that communication systems are critical during disasters and instructed telecom companies to prepare a robust alternative network plan considering Chamba’s difficult terrain.
Key projects such as Mission Utkarsh, the BSNL-led 4G Saturation Project, and BharatNet were also discussed in detail.
The meeting proceedings were conducted by Assistant Commissioner Aparajita Chandel, with ADM Bharmour Kulbir Singh Rana and various SDMs joining virtually.
