DC Inspects Damaged Stretch of Pakkatal-Balu Link Road

Officials directed to prepare estimate for reconstruction at the earliest

Chamba, August 25: Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal on Tuesday inspected the damaged portion of the Pakkatal-Balu link road near Government Middle School, Pakkatal.

He directed senior officials of the Public Works Department and Municipal Council to prepare an estimate for reconstruction of the damaged road at the earliest to avoid unnecessary delay in the execution of the work.

During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner also took note of garbage being dumped openly in the Pakkatal area. He directed the Municipal Council to ensure proper waste disposal and take action as per rules against those found dumping waste in the open.

He appealed to residents to avoid open dumping and cooperate with the Municipal Council in maintaining cleanliness and keeping the town clean and attractive.

The Deputy Commissioner also directed the Public Works Department to explore an alternative drainage arrangement in the Pakkatal area to ensure proper disposal of rainwater and other runoff.

He further inspected the site identified for the proposed Animal Birth Control Building in the Animal Husbandry Department office complex at Pakkatal and issued necessary directions to the Municipal Council officials.

During the visit, local residents also apprised the Deputy Commissioner of various issues concerning the area. He directed the concerned officials to ensure their priority-based resolution.
