Cyber Safety Session Held at LR B.Ed. Solan under NSS Camp

Solan, 13 May 2025 — On the third day of the ongoing seven-day NSS camp at LR B.Ed. Department, Solan, a special awareness session on cyber frauds was held with the theme *“Think Before You Click.”* The event was graced by the presence of Sarpanch of Sanhol Panchayat Mrs. Kusum Thakur, Ward Member Mrs. Heera Devi, Academic Director Dr. P.P. Sharma, and former Law Department Director Dr. R.P. Nainta.
NSS Coordinator Megha Thakur presented a report on the planned activities of the camp and highlighted the day’s focus on cyber security awareness. Dr. Anita Verma, Assistant Professor of Law, conducted an interactive session where she explained the causes of cyber fraud and shared preventive measures with B.Ed. NSS volunteers.
In the second session, a door-to-door awareness drive was carried out in Kyar village under the leadership of the village Sarpanch. Villagers and shopkeepers were sensitized about not sharing OTPs, passwords, or clicking on unknown links or messages.
Dr. Shachi Singh, Director (Student Quality and Welfare), shared ten key cyber safety tips with students and encouraged them to follow the motto *“Stay Safe Online.”*
Principal Dr. Nisha Sharma motivated the NSS volunteers to actively participate in social service alongside academics. She proudly informed that six volunteers from the institute have been selected for the prestigious *Vibrant Himachal Program.*
All NSS volunteers from both first and second year, along with faculty members of the B.Ed. department, were present during the event.
