CUHP Rape accused teacher remanded to 14 days Judicial custody

Kangra, Dec 16: A guest faculty teacher of the Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP) accused of raping a girl student of Central University, Dehra, under the pretext of marrying her, after completing his two days of police remand, was presented in Dehra court today and remanded to judicial custody for 14 days by the court.
Dehra Sub Divisional Police Officer Vishal Verma told that the accused lecturer of the CUHP at Dehra, resident of Bihar, was teaching the students of the CUHP lured one of his girl students resident of a neighbouring state under pretext of marrying her but allegedly raped her.
SDPO Dehra told on Thursday that following a complaint lodged by the victim at Dehra police station, the girl was medically examined, following which the police arrested the accused teacher.
On Thursday the accused teacher was presented in the Dehra court after two day police remand was completed today was remanded to 14 day judicial custody and sent to Dharàmshala.
