CPI(M) put former Deputy Mayor in fray from Shimla urban

Shimla, Oct 17 – Communist Party of India Marxist on Monday decided to put the former Deputy Mayor in the fray from Shimla urban assembly constituency. The party secretary Onkar Shad said in a press release issued here today that former deputy mayor of Shimla Tekinder Singh Panwar would be in the fray for Shimla urban.
Panwar had a stronghold among the party cadre mostly hospitality workers, students, and the common man moreover he have a deep penetration cross-section of society and high regard among the political opponents. Panwar plunged into public life from the student’s politics and he is an alumna matter of St Edwards School. Panwar hailed from the peasantry class belonging from Dharmpur area of Solan district.
He was elected as Deputy Mayor along with party Mayor Sanjay Chauhan in direct Political on the party symbol in 2012. During his stint as Deputy Mayor he lost the assembly poll in 2012 and got around 7000 votes. Joining the race Tekinder Singh Panwar made the electoral battle triangular and interesting in the capital town Shimla. He is being projected as a strong candidate in front others two main Political outfits in town.
The electoral profile of Shimla broadly divides between highlanders and the rest. It is the first time that no highlanders may give tough fights in the poll. Panwar was currently posted as a whole-timer with the central party office in Delhi. While talking about his candidature he stated that he was not keen to contest here however he has put himself in the race for assembly elections under strong demand from the local party cadre and unit. He has recently launched Forum Against Corruption to expose BJP government to misuse of public funds.
