Congress Hoists National Flag at Rajiv Bhawan on Himachal Day

Shimla, April 15: On the occasion of Himachal Day, the Pradesh Congress Committee today hoisted the national flag at the Congress headquarters, Rajiv Bhawan, and paid tribute to the Seva Dal members, including Shakti Ram Kashyap, Ramesh Kumar, Naresh Thakur, Sandeep Thakur, Amit Kumar, Sunil, and Rajesh.

Addressing the gathering, Yashwant Chhajta, the Vice President of the Pradesh Congress Committee from Himachal, stated that the Congress has made significant contributions to the development of Himachal Pradesh. He highlighted that on this day in 1948, the merger of 30 small princely states led to the formation of Himachal Pradesh. Since then, the state has progressed remarkably, emerging as a model of development among the hill states.

Chhajta emphasized that every village in Himachal now has road connectivity, electricity, and access to clean drinking water, along with basic facilities like education and healthcare, which are the legacies of Congress governments, both at the center and the state.

He credited former Chief Ministers Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar and six-time Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh for their crucial roles in shaping modern Himachal Pradesh. Chhajta concluded by expressing gratitude to their contributions in advancing education, healthcare, and infrastructure development in the state.

Present at the event were Vinay Gautam and Anand Kaushal, Vice Presidents of the Pradesh Congress Committee, Devendra Bushahr, State Secretary, Jainab Chandel, President of Pradesh Mahila Congress, Mela Ram Sharma, former Chief of Congress Seva Dal, Ved Prakash Thakur, State Secretary, and other Congress leaders and workers.
