1 min read

11 December 2024, Himachal Pradesh: Former Union Minister and MP from Hamirpur, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, criticized the Himachal Pradesh Congress government for celebrating its two years in office, calling it a celebration of failures.

He remarked, “Himachal has witnessed two years of Congress rule marked by misconduct, chaos, and unfulfilled promises. This government, the most directionless, insensitive, and incompetent in the state’s history, has betrayed every section of society while enriching its allies. Instead of addressing the issues, they are shamelessly celebrating their failures.”

Thakur also alleged rampant corruption, claiming that illegal mining, liquor, and drug mafias thrive under government protection. He pointed out the rising debt, stating, “Himachal is burdened with ₹97,000 crore in debt, and at this pace, it will exceed ₹1.5 lakh crore by the end of this term.”

He highlighted the unfulfilled guarantees made by Congress, including free electricity, water, and financial aid to women and farmers. “The people of Himachal are still waiting for 300 free electricity units, ₹1,500 monthly allowance for women, and ₹5 lakh jobs for the youth,” he added.
