CM Sukhu Promises Land for Pong Dam Displaced

Dehra, July 6, 2024 — Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu conducted a vigorous campaign in Dehra Assembly constituency, advocating for Congress candidate Kamlesh Thakur. He assured the Congress government would ensure no Pong Dam displaced family remains landless, even if it requires changing laws. Sukhu criticized former MLA Hoshiar Singh for neglecting Dehra’s development and focusing on personal gains.

Sukhu accused Hoshiar Singh of conspiracy and selling out to the BJP, using money intended for vote-buying. He urged voters to take any money offered but to vote for Congress. The CM highlighted the Congress government’s efforts, such as the Mukhyamantri Sukhashray Scheme for orphaned children, increased pensions for women and elderly, higher wages under MGNREGA, and restored old pensions for state employees. Sukhu emphasized the government’s commitment to welfare without relying on central assistance, improving the state’s economic condition and generating additional revenue.
