CM conducts aerial survey of disaster-hit areas of Thunag and Janjehli

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu conducted an aerial survey of the disaster-affected areas of Thunag and Janjehli in Mandi district on Wednesday,
He distributed relief material to the affected on reaching Rain-Gallu helipad in Thunag and interacted with the disaster affected people besides assuring all possible help. As the road connectivity to Thunag was disrupted due to landslides, the Chief Minister landed there in the Army chopper and directed the district administration to deliver relief material through sorties.
The district administration has prepared 1,000 relief kits containing edibles like Rice, Flour, pulses etc and other essential items.
Around 172 kits were distributed viz: 90 at Rain Gallu helipad and 82 in the Janjehli area by chopper. In addition a V-SAT communication portal was airlifted with police personnel to restore communication in the Thunag subdivision to reconnect with affected areas.
Relief camps have been set up by the local administration, including one at the Government Primary School in Thunag. Over 200 affected people have taken shelter there and are being provided with food, medicines, and other essential facilities.
