Order issued by DC under IPC Section 144 For Public Safety & Peaceful Voting
Chamba, December 31– In view of the Panchayati Raj and Municipal Body elections to be held in the district, no person will be able to carry firearms and other lethal weapons within the boundaries of Chamba district.
The order issued by Deputy Commissioner DC Rana under Section 144 of the Indian Penal Code states that it has been issued with a view to ensuring public safety and peaceful voting, which is in force with immediate effect. The order will not apply to security personnel maintaining law and order.
