Centre Gifts ₹250 Crore on Dhanteras: Jai Ram Thakur

Manali: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur participated in the foundation-laying ceremony for the Critical Care Block at Manali Civil Hospital, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurating it virtually. Thakur acknowledged the central government’s ₹250 crore support for healthcare projects in Himachal on Dhanteras, emphasizing the need for advanced healthcare facilities in the state’s key regions, like Manali. He praised Modi’s contributions to strengthening healthcare across India through initiatives like AIIMS and six major medical colleges in Himachal.

Thakur criticized the current state government for not expressing gratitude toward the Centre despite substantial financial aid. He claimed that Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu’s administration has not advanced the healthcare sector, nor introduced effective health schemes. Thakur also highlighted the inauguration of a ₹540 crore Bulk Drug Unit in Nalagarh and the extension of the Ayushman Bharat coverage to over two lakh seniors in Himachal.

Present at the event were BJP leaders and public representatives, including local BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, ex-Minister Govind Singh Thakur, and other dignitaries.
