Mandi: While addressing the media at the PM Vishwakarma Training Center, former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition, Jairam Thakur, expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will form the government in Haryana for a third time, despite exit polls predicting a Congress win. Thakur drew parallels with previous elections in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, where exit polls were similarly misleading, and said that the final results will favor the BJP.
He praised the people of Haryana for making wise decisions, influenced by the current situation in Himachal under Congress rule. Thakur added, “The people have realized that only Narendra Modi’s leadership guarantees progress, while Congress thrives on false promises and burdens citizens with taxes after coming to power.”
Thakur also discussed the BJP’s ongoing membership drive in Himachal, announcing that the party is close to achieving its goal of 16 lakh new members, with over 10 lakh already enrolled.
Highlighting the benefits of the PM Vishwakarma Yojana, Thakur emphasized that the initiative aims to empower traditional artisans by offering them loans of up to ₹23 lakh without collateral, along with toolkits worth ₹15,000, skill training, and stipends. He encouraged carpenters, masons, and artisans undergoing training at the center to take full advantage of the government’s schemes.
Accompanying him at the event were Sadar MLA Anil Sharma, BJP District President Nihal Chand Sharma, and Mandi Mayor Virender Bhatt.
