Awareness Camp Against Substance Abuse at Blue Bells High School, Sanjauli

Shimla, March 26 : Under the auspices of the Human Welfare Service Committee and funded by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Himachal Pradesh government, a consciousness-raising camp was conducted today, March 26, 2024, at Blue Bells High School, Sanjauli, under the ongoing CPLI scheme aimed at creating awareness under the “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan” against substance abuse. The program saw the participation of adolescents aged between 10 to 18 years.

Mr. Deepak Sundariyal, the Area Coordinator for the CPLI scheme operated by the Human Welfare Service Committee, Chaupal, provided insights, mentioning that similar programs have been ongoing in all 34 wards under the Shimla Municipal Corporation for the past month. Today’s initiative targeted educating the students of Sanjauli School about the subject.

During the session, Mr. Deepak Sundariyal elucidated on the importance of providing crucial information to adolescents regarding the dangers of substance addiction. He emphasized that falling into substance abuse isn’t solely driven by the desire for pleasure or curiosity but often stems from a desire to perform better in various aspects of life. He stressed the necessity of discussing all the causes of substance abuse.

Furthermore, the organization’s trainers, Mr. Veerendra Kumar and Mrs. Neelam Chauhan, administered an oath against substance abuse to the students and urged them to collaborate in spreading awareness in their respective wards.

The event marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to combat substance abuse and promote a healthier lifestyle among the youth.
