ARTRAC Celebrates 35th Raising Day with Band Performance and ‘Run for Excellence’

Shimla, September 28 – The Army Training Command (ARTRAC) marked its 35th Raising Day with a series of vibrant events on September 27 and 28, 2025. The celebrations featured a spectacular Army Symphony Band performance at the historic Ridge and a spirited ‘Run for Excellence’, highlighting community engagement and the spirit of excellence.
The Army Symphony Band enthralled the audience with a blend of military and Bollywood compositions, symbolizing harmony and camaraderie with the local community. Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, PVSM, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, ARTRAC, felicitated the talented soldier-musicians.
On September 28, Lt. Gen. Sharma flagged off the ‘Run for Excellence’ organized by ARTRAC Headquarters. The three-kilometer run from the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies to the Ridge saw enthusiastic participation from troops, families, and children, showcasing unity, pride, and the spirit of fitness. The run concluded with an energetic Zumba session by Varsha.
Lt. Gen. Sharma emphasized the importance of staying fit, particularly in today’s digital age, reiterating ARTRAC’s commitment to the Fit India Movement.
These events were organized ahead of the Raising Day celebrations on October 1, 2025, underscoring ARTRAC’s dedication to fostering unity within the Armed Forces and building strong bonds with the local community. ARTRAC, one of the seven commands of the Indian Army, oversees 34 training establishments across the country.
