APG Shimla University Students Gain Hands-On Radio Journalism Experience at AIR

Led by faculty members Dr. Pyar Singh and Dr. Vijayshree, the students participated in a workshop conducted by Mr. Ritesh Kapoor, Regional News Head, focusing on news writing, editing, and live broadcasting techniques.
Mr. Kapoor emphasized the critical role of journalism as the fourth pillar of democracy, underscoring the need for dedication and knowledge in radio journalism. The students toured the control room, studio, and announcement rooms, gaining insights into frequency systems, transmitters, and sound wave conversion. Practical sessions in news reading, recording, and editing provided real-world experience.
Prof. Dr. Ashwani Sharma, along with other dignitaries, expressed gratitude to AIR Shimla for their mentorship, hoping for future collaborations. The visit enriched students with valuable practical skills, setting a strong foundation for their journalism careers.
