Highlights Vision of Viksit Bharat at Hindu College Event

April 12, 2025 – New Delhi/Himachal Pradesh: Former Union Minister and Hamirpur MP Anurag Singh Thakur strongly criticized the Congress party during his address at the Sarvodaya Yuva Sansad 2025, hosted by the prestigious Hindu College in Delhi. Thakur accused the Congress of disrespecting Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s legacy while now attempting to gain political mileage through Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations.

Thakur said, “The Nehru-Gandhi family repeatedly insulted Babasaheb Ambedkar. Jawaharlal Nehru even attempted to defeat him in elections. Congress trampled on the soul of the Constitution during the Emergency. It was only due to Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s insistence that the VP Singh government awarded Ambedkar the Bharat Ratna.”

He highlighted the Modi government’s commitment to the welfare of backward, marginalized, and women communities. Supporting the *Waqf Amendment Bill*, he called it a tool to end decades of misuse and land grabs under the guise of minority welfare, stating, “This is not about religion; it’s about justice for the poor.”

Addressing over 500 participants at the youth parliament event, Thakur emphasized that Viksit Bharat is not just a dream but a collective resolution. He praised PM Modi’s initiative to involve one lakh non-political youth in the governance process and lauded the spirit of Hindu College students for contributing to India’s democratic discourse.

Thakur also reiterated the government’s target to transform India into a $30 trillion economy by 2047 and stated that schemes like maternity leave extension, Ayushman Bharat, and Mudra loans are empowering youth and women across the country.
