Ambedkar Championed Equality, But Congress Spread Vote Bank Virus: BJP’s Karna Nanda

Shimla, May 3, 2025 – BJP Himachal Pradesh Media In-charge Karna Nanda, while participating in the Ambedkar Samman Abhiyan in Shimla’s Bhanmore ward, launched a scathing attack on the Congress, accusing it of dishonouring Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and manipulating his legacy for vote bank politics.

Nanda said Ambedkar’s vision was rooted in equality, but Congress diluted it by creating caste-based divisions for political gain. “Ambedkar was the guardian of the Constitution, Congress has repeatedly acted as its destroyer,” he remarked. He accused Congress of disrespecting not only Ambedkar but also former PM P.V. Narasimha Rao, whose last rites were not accorded due protocol by the party.

As part of the statewide campaign, over 2,000 BJP workers reached out to more than 10,000 homes. Senior leaders including Jairam Thakur, Dr. Rajeev Bindal, Siddharthan, Suresh Kashyap, and others led the campaign in various districts, emphasizing the BJP’s commitment to Ambedkar’s ideals. Nanda reiterated that those who insulted Babasaheb cannot claim his legacy today.
