Allegations of Political Maneuvering in Bulk Drug Park Inauguration

1 min read

Shimla, June 21, 2024:

Satpal Satti, former Pradesh BJP President and MLA, criticized the Congress Party for what he described as underhanded politics in the inauguration of a building at the Bulk Drug Park in Haroli without notifying Union Minister JP Nadda. The ceremony took place despite objections previously raised by Congress leaders against the project.

Satti highlighted that the Bulk Drug Park in Haroli, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 13, 2022, received significant funding and was approved under the BJP government. However, he accused the current Congress-led state government of neglecting the project since assuming power, despite its potential to bolster the pharmaceutical sector and reduce dependency on imports, especially from China.

He criticized local Congress leaders, including Anurag Thakur, for not being involved in the project’s development, despite their earlier objections. Satti also referenced legal challenges filed against the project by Congress leaders Harish Kumar and Rajinder Kumar, questioning their change in stance now that the park is operational.

In conclusion, Satti accused Congress leaders of engaging in opportunistic behavior by attempting to claim credit for a project they previously opposed, likening their actions to political chameleons. He questioned their credibility and commitment to the welfare of Himachal Pradesh’s pharmaceutical sector.

This statement reflects the political tensions surrounding infrastructure projects and their management across different political administrations in Himachal Pradesh.
