76 Donate Blood in Tribute to ‘Operation Sindoor’ Heroes: Umang Foundation Organizes Camp at Shimla Ridge

Shimla, 25 May 2025 – In a heartfelt tribute to the brave soldiers of ‘Operation Sindoor’ and in remembrance of the martyrs, Umang Foundation organized a blood donation camp at the historic Ridge in Shimla. A total of 76 individuals donated blood, while hundreds paid floral tribute to symbolic portraits of the fallen heroes.

The camp was inaugurated by retired Indian Army Major General Atul Kaushik and his wife, Mrs. Simmi Kaushik, who also led by example and donated blood themselves. Umang Foundation President Prof. Ajay Srivastava and camp coordinator Rohit Duglet highlighted the overwhelming response, especially from youth and tourists.

Major General Kaushik lauded the initiative, emphasizing the need to instill a spirit of patriotism and respect for the armed forces among the younger generation. He also stressed the importance of spreading awareness about blood donation.

Notable donors included Abhishek Bhagra, Kartikeya Lakhanpal, Dr. Rita Kumari, Arjun Singh, Uday Kumar, Vishal Thakur, and Ayush Rajput. The camp was supported by volunteers from Seva Bharati and Atulniya Shiv Shagun Welfare Society, with the blood collection team from IGMC led by Dr. Saivi Dhotta.
