36th Sub-Junior State-Level Judo Championship Begins in Shimla

Shimla: The 36th Sub-Junior State-Level Judo Championship began today at the Indoor Sports Stadium Complex, Shimla, with more than 300 young judokas from different districts of Himachal Pradesh participating in the state-level competition.

The championship brings together promising young athletes competing across various weight categories, providing them with an opportunity to showcase their skills and gain valuable competitive experience. The event aims to promote discipline, sportsmanship, confidence and physical fitness among young players while encouraging the growth of judo in the state.

Abhishek Jain, Principal Secretary, Government of Himachal Pradesh, is scheduled to attend as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Rajiv Kumar, MD, HPDC, will be present as the Special Guest.

The championship is being conducted under the guidance and leadership of Ramesh Chauhan, a pioneer in promoting judo in Himachal Pradesh.

Surender Thakur, General Secretary; D.S. Chandel, Chief Executive Officer; Pankaj Sharma, Treasurer; Naresh Thakur, Vice-President; and other office-bearers are contributing to the successful organisation of the championship.

Sanjay Thakur, Coach, is also playing an important role in coordinating the event and supporting the participating athletes.

The championship will provide young judokas with a platform to compete at the state level and further develop their skills and sporting potential.
