23rd AGM of The Institution of Engineers (India), Himachal Pradesh State Centre Held in Shimla

The Himachal Pradesh State Centre of The Institution of Engineers (India) successfully conducted its 23rd Annual General Meeting in Shimla. During the event, Engineer Jaswant Singh and Dr. D.K. Vats formally assumed their roles as Chairman and Honorary Secretary, respectively, alongside the new executive committee.

The Institution, established in 1920, is the world’s largest multidisciplinary engineering professional society, representing 15 engineering disciplines with approximately 250,000 members across 124 centers.

Engineer Jaswant Singh welcomed attendees, presented the annual accounts, and shared future plans, highlighting the institution’s strong financial health. Outgoing President Engineer Vishwa Mohan Joshi praised the institution’s achievements, attributing its success to member dedication.

Chief Guest Captain S.P. Jagota, Chief Engineer (HP PWD), emphasized the engineering community’s critical role in societal development and applauded the event’s energy.

Outgoing committee members were honored for their contributions, and winners of the table tennis competition were awarded, fostering camaraderie among participants.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Dinesh Kumar Vatsa, followed by the formal assumption of office by the new executive committee, who pledged to advance the institution’s objectives.
