14 Candidates File Nominations for Zila Parishad, Panchayat Samiti in Rohru

Rohru, May 8: A total of 14 candidates filed nomination papers on the second day of the Panchayati Raj Institutions election process in Rohru subdivision for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti ward member posts.

Assistant Returning Officer and Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Civil) Rohru Dharmesh Ramotra said six candidates submitted nominations for Zila Parishad wards. Urmila Devi and Kamlesh Samarek filed papers from Ward No. 08 (Bhaloon), Vikram Singh and Rameshwar from Ward No. 07 (Khashdhar), while Mohit Chauhan and Lalit Kumar contested from Ward No. 05 (Seema Rantari).

He said a total of 10 candidates have filed nominations for Zila Parishad seats so far.

For Panchayat Samiti wards, eight candidates submitted nomination papers on Friday. These included Kusum Lata and Rachna from Ward No. 14 (Katlah), Deepak Tegta from Ward No. 07 (Tikkar), Raja Thakur from Ward No. 11 (Brasli), Anju Devi from Ward No. 12 (Dharada), Prabha from Ward No. 10 (Adhal), Arun Kumar from Ward No. 08 (Seema Rantari) and Sweety Kaith from Ward No. 13 (Bhaloon).

Officials said nomination papers for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti ward members can also be filed on May 11. Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on May 12, while candidates may withdraw nominations on May 14 and 15.
