“Swach Himachal Swasthya Himachal” Motto Emphasised by Regional Laboratory, PCB Shimla

Regional Laboratory, PCB Shimla organised a cleanliness drive in the major hospitals of Shimla town from 7 to 12 August 2021 by involving the doctors, staff nurse, and safai karamchari in cleaning the premises as well surrounding of the hospital, the staff of Regional Laboratory also participated in the activity.

During the driving slogan of “Swach Himachal Swasthya Himachal ” was brought into the knowledge of all and were asked to keep their premises neat and clean including the surroundings and to be aware of others also. During the cleanliness drive, about 120 kg of municipal solid waste was got collected from 3 Hospitals namely DDU Shimla, KNH Shimla and Tenzin Hospital Shimla. No plastic bag was used in the collection of municipal waste and waste was collected in gunny bags and disposed of off to MC Shimla through their vehicle.

All the participants were asked to avoid single-use plastic and were motivated to manage their waste properly in hospitals as well as in-home. The staff cleaned the premises and surrounding while keeping social distancing. The staff of Regional Laboratory thanked the participants for participating in the cleanliness activity despite patient rush in the hospital and urged the Incharge of the Hospital to continue the activity for better health and environment.
