St. Thomas’ Shimla Hosts Inspiring Techno Fest on World Robotics Day

St. Thomas’ School, Shimla turned into a vibrant hub of innovation and creativity as it celebrated World Robotics Day by organizing an extraordinary Techno Fest for students of Classes I to VIII. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from young tech enthusiasts who demonstrated their groundbreaking ideas and projects under the STEMROBO initiative.
The event was graced by Dr. Balveer Singh Thakur, Assistant Professor, UIT Department, Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), who served as the Chief Guest. He lauded the students for their innovative spirit and congratulated the school on organizing such a forward-looking event. Dr. Thakur emphasized how today’s generation is seamlessly integrating robotics and artificial intelligence into their lives and highlighted that such events shape the innovators of tomorrow. He praised St. Thomas’ School for spearheading tech-based education through StemRobo, predicting that the school will contribute significantly to future technological advancements.
The Techno Fest featured a wide array of student-made projects including:
Smart Lock, Smart Fan, Auto Pot, 3D Pen, 3D Printer, Pick and Place Robot, Discovering Motion Models, Basic Car and Truck Prototypes, Musical Robot, Volume Control and Table Lamp Circuits—all of which showcased the practical application of STEM concepts.
Vice Principal Sharon Nanda expressed pride in the school’s technological strides, stating, “Launching StemRobo at St. Thomas’ School has been a transformative step. It’s heartening to see our students so engaged in exploring innovation through robotics and AI.” She reaffirmed the school’s commitment to fostering 21st-century skills and integrating cutting-edge technology into the curriculum.
