St. Thomas’ School, Shimla Celebrates International Labor Day with Special Assembly

On May 1, 2024, St. Thomas’ School in Shimla commemorated International Labor Day with a special assembly organized by the students of class 11. The event aimed to recognize and appreciate the significant contributions of workers to nation-building efforts.

Presided over by the school principal, Mrs. Vidhupriya Chakravarty, the assembly featured various programs highlighting the role of workers in shaping society. Students showcased the laborers’ contributions through engaging dramas and heartfelt poems, shedding light on the vital but often overlooked aspect of their impact on the nation’s development.

Additionally, the students raised awareness about pertinent issues such as child labor and exploitation in workplaces, emphasizing the need for social and legal reforms to address these challenges effectively. The significance of labor and voluntary work (Shramdaan) was thoroughly discussed during the program, promoting a deeper understanding among the attendees.

During her address, Principal Chakravarty expressed gratitude to all the supportive staff members working tirelessly within the school premises, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to the institution’s functioning.
